Sequioa National Park

I started to write about our trip to the Sequoia National Park, but realized that it would be much easier to share the experience in a photo diary. So, here we go...

Friday
4:00 pm : Leave LA
11:00pm : Arrive at Sequoia National Park, realized that the rain was pouring down, turned around and found a lodge. *It was an old Holiday Inn*

Saturday
8:00am : Wake up, shower, eat
10:30am : Arrive at the camp site. Totally surprised to see snow on the ground.
11:00am : Took the shuttle to the General Sherman, Meadow, Tharp's Log
12:00pm : Hail, rain, etc
4:00 pm : Reunited with our friends!
COYOTE SIGHTING!
4:30 pm : Dinner (Korean BBQ, Cobbler, alcohol)
12:00am : Bedtime!

Korean BBQ time! This was when we saw a coyote about 10 feet away STARING AT US. I guess it's not the smartest thing to cook meat in the wild.

Sunday
9:00am : Wake up
9:15am : Breakfast (Banana/Jelly Bean/Blueberry/Peanut Butter Pancakes)
10:30am: Pack up
BEAR SIGHTING!
11:00am: Hike up Moro Rock
1:00pm : Crystal Cove
DEER SIGHTING!

Images from our hike up Moro Rock

This was a pretty scary sight

Me and Suk's signature pose *WOW* at the top of Moro Rock

The whole gang, thanks to our handy dandy wide angle lens!

Images from the inside of the cave. Pretty, huh?

Always a kid..I was scared the park rangers were going to yell at him.

I'm so glad we went and didn't back out! Thanks for inviting us!

Toothless and Proud

I don't quite remember when I first lost my tooth, or what I did with it. All I know is that I was probably very excited and proud, just like Little B.

Check him out

Ha! I love how Little B is sticking his tongue out of the hole.

Newborn Session

Sometimes I sit and wonder how lucky I am to be able to photograph the cutest, sweetest kids. Today was definitely one such day. I photographed a 9-day old newborn and let me tell you, it was such a treat! Perhaps it's because I don't have a baby of my own, but I find that newborns are just so amazing! I could probably stare at babies all day long.

Meet Little S. Oh, and I couldn't decide if I like the color or the b&w better, so you get to see both!

...with daddy's baseball...

Hello handsome!

Until next time...

Book Club

I have always enjoyed reading books. Growing up, I remember staying up late to read one more chapter until it was absolutely time for me to go to bed. I loved and still love the Boxcar Children series, the Babysitter's Club, Goosebumps, and as I got older, I read all of Jerry Spinelli and Ann M. Martin books.

I don't know quite when I stopped reading. It was probably in college, when I was consumed with chatting online and watching endless episodes of Friends and Felicity. Even after graduating, I have only read the Harry Potter series and Dan Brown books.

Well, my friends, it is time for change. Summer is quickly approaching, and since I will not be teaching summer school, I have two whole months...well, two and half months to read to my heart's content.

For starters, this is what I have...

Most of these were recommended, either from my favorite magazine, Real Simple, or from friends and family.

I can't wait to sit under the sun and read!

Oh so precious...

I'm not a newborn photographer, but there was no way I was going to pass up an opportunity to photograph a 6 day old baby! Little Miss L is the beautiful daughter of my co-worker, so when she called me up, I was more than happy to oblige!

Meet Little Miss L...sweet, and full of energy!

The second photo totally makes me smile! Get a good look at her...you'll be seeing her again soon!

The FENCE

Last week after eating a humongous meal, Jimmy and I decided that we should take a walk...for our own good. We didn't really have a specific destination but as we were walking across Carson and Madrona, I noticed a rusty old fence covered in beautiful red flowers. I stopped and stared. It was as though a lightbulb went off in my head. Then I slowly looked at Jimmy and whispered, "I want to photograph someone here. In front of this fence." It's weird how we notice things when we slow our lives down. I've driven on this street my whole life, but never noticed how beautiful it looked.

Well, fast forward to the weekend. I saw a girl from my church and after staring at her for awhile, I decided that she was the ONE. She is easy-going, helpful, has a great smile, and most of all is beautiful inside and out. SO, I was pretty happy when she agreed to be my model.

And she totally rocked it! Here are my favs...

Meet Miss H...complete with her gorgeous eyes.

Told ya she's beautiful!

She did an awesome job...would you believe me if I told you there were cars flying by just five feet away?!

Baby L's First Birthday

Yesterday I had the opportunity to photograph Baby L's first birthday party, and it was such a gorgeous day! The party was at a local park, which is what I would love to do when I have my own little rascal! The guests were laughing, enjoying their time and soon enough, the grills were going with delicious meat and veggies! Here are some of my favs!

Colors

I love girls. I love pink. I love girls who love pink. I love Miss H and her smile. I love listening to her talk about her 7th birthday party, her cousin, and her puppy. All in all, I love being around her.

Oh, and I love her missing tooth. It totally adds to her charm.
